Track a Story

Once you've sent your story out you need to keep track of where it goes. This is important for several reasons.
1. you never want to send the same story to a market where it has been read before. This annoys editors, unless they specifically asked for a rewrite.
2. you want to make sure that a market doesn't keep a story for too long. If say a story's been gone for a year, and it turns out the market folded, you could have been sending the story out to other places in this time.
3. it makes accounting easier. When you start making sales you can easily keep track of money earned from writing (and expenses as well).

How to manage a story?

When a story is returned Edit the Event and choose an appropriate reply. If the story was rejected, then choose a new market to send the story to (see Destinations).

Using the Search Events feature you can display monthly progress reports and print them out.

You may make modifications to your manuscript, and you can keep track of this idea on the Project card.
