As you know, remembering what has to be done and when is very important. Plotnik's mantra reads "Nothing happens when it is supposed to happen without well-timed reminders." (Plotnik, The Elements of Editing, 1982). That means, you may miss important contest deadlines, follow-up calls to editor, and other important events without some sort of reminder system to help you out.
By selecting a Reminder date under Add/Edit events in the submission book, you will be notified of outstanding events when you start Worgan, or when you press the Reminder button. You can turn reminders off under the Setup Properties form.
If you are notified of an event and want to modify it, just double-click on the event or press Update Event. You will be brought to the Edit event form.
These differ from *Event Reminders* in that they are for general purposes, not specifically market responses. For example in the reminders you can have:
1. appointments with editors
2. personal things like birthdays
3. Contests that you can link to a specific market
4. say you entered a neat character but you know you won't have any time to explore this idea for a while. You can add it as a general reminder so that three months from now Worgan reminds you to work on this character.
Manage Reminders
Can delete a reminder or change what it relates to.
Add Reminders
Can add a reminder. You must press the Save Reminder button for any changes to be saved.
Options
Repeater: WILL REPEAT FULLY FOR THAT DAY! If you seelect ONCE then it will show the reminder every time you check ALL DAY. Day of Week does not matter with annually because it goes by date.
The tab bar across the screen determines which page of cards will appear under Card Link.
Any priorities you had from previous versions are automatically converted to general reminders.
These reminders appear with general reminders. If a market goes on hiatus, you can select the On Hiatus option and a reminder will be posted when the market is suppose to be open for submissions again.
When you go to disable one or another reminder any of the other one's will be shut-off; thus it is best to always select repeating on stuff that's really important.
